The power of colour
I have a real soft spot for colourful interiors, so when I came across these images on the Marie Claire Maison website, I just couldn’t help but share them! I love how practically everything in this house is brightly coloured; from the walls and furniture to the picture frames and lamps, it’s just a joyous explosion of pinks, greens and every shade in between!
The key to getting such a scheme correct is to not go overboard on the home accessories, otherwise it’ll all be a bit too much…

With a room this colourful, why even bother switching on the TV?!

Now this is attention to detail… Black and red, a rather conventional and traditional pairing, somehow manages to look fresh and surprising. The floor is so black that you can hardly see the chair…

Hmmm, I’m not sure I could sleep in this room, but it does look cosy and like a great place for a chat with friends while getting ready for a night out! I love the bed linen and the bedstead, made of what looks like empty mirror frames??

I think this might be my favourite part of the house. Every colour seems to clash and fight for your attention (note the lime green painted pipe!). The result is a little bit hectic, but in a very fun way! I’ve definitely never seen a fuchsia pink toilet seat or toilet roll holder before!!! I wonder where they found them – probably painted them themselves? There seem to be more decorative items on the shelves in the WC, than in the rest of the house together… what a strange place to display one’s items?
