Many families are opting for a short getaway in the UK this summer rather than go abroad. We have some beautiful coastlines and stunning countryside right on our doorstep! Why not try camping? For Shelter: Ground cloth, tent(s), sleeping bags, self-inflating sleeping pads, pillows, a dining fly (a suspended tarp or other shelter for your dining area), portable chairs.
For Food Prep:Campstove, fuel, charcoal, pots and pans, water (collapsible bladders are great for storing water at your site), trash bags, zipper-lock bags, aluminum foil, mess kits for everyone (plate, cup, bowl,), eating and cooking utensils, cooler & ice, biodegradable dish soap, scouring pad and towels.
For Safety: Family medical/first aid kit, prescription medicines, headlamps for everyone, bug spray, sunscreen, whistle (one per child).
Other:Rope or twine, duct tape, tent and sleeping bag repair kits, handsaw, firewood and kindling (if campfires are allowed), matches in a waterproof case or lighter, Swiss Army knife or similar multi-purpose tool, lantern, short-handled broom (for sweeping out the tent), water bottles, daypacks, rain gear, sporting equipment, toys and books, camera in waterproof case.
