Perfecting your purple
Lilac, iris, mauve, violet, lavender, heather, aubergine, grape, plum… call it what you will, but can purple really work in the home?
Katie isn’t a huge fan of purple interiors and before seeing the images below, I wasn’t too keen either. I think the secret is to choose a shade which compliments the character of your home. Strong colours may be best suited to a feature wall, or used as an accent colour so as to not be too overpowering and garish. Purple flowers, an eye catching vase or a pretty glass bowl can be used to add flashes of bold, bright colour.
One thing is for sure, though- plan carefully before picking up the paint brush as it’s a difficult look to perfect!

It def seems to be a bit ‘on trend’ at the mo – but you’re right, it needs to be just the right shade!
