‘Wow, wow, wow!’ was my reaction when I saw this gorgeous front room in Metropolitain Home.
New York designer John Lyle made it his mission to transform his brother’s Mississippi traditional-looking home into a contemporary dream…

I love the duck-egg blue with the black and white. And who would have thought this brave mixture of pattern would work so well?! You can see the main colours used throughout are simply yellow and black, however the clever use of contrasting patterned fabrics means you could never call this pallett boring!


“The rooms flow into each other, so there had to be a common thread to link them,” Lyle explains. What a talented man!
