Feeling Blue
It been a week of disaterous events at our house, so it seems rather apt for the theme today to be blue!

the lovely shade of blue on the wall really ‘lifts’ the whole room…

love the ’sky’ wallpaper, above! The perfect backdrop for the colourful sofa

the walls have a chalky look about them here, very Greek-looking

How adorable are the steps leading up to the wardrobe? Not sure my balance would be too good first thing in the morning, though!

A great friend of mine, Lisa Holmes, is a professional cake decorator and I think it’s time to unleash her talent to the world! Cake decorating takes lots of skill and patience and even then not everyone gets it right. You can see from these images below that Lisa is very artistic and imaginative…

handmade sugar flowers (my favourite cake of all!)

A bit about Lisa: “I love creating unusual cakes… I have been decorating cakes from a young age, I also have a N.C.F.E in Professional cake decoration and now enjoy making cakes for all occasions… I also make Cupcakes, cookies and chocolate items”.

Luscious Leila
Leila is a pretty, girly boutique- in fact there are three of them dotted around London. Most of us are sick of shopping the high street, everything just looks so ’samey’, so I love discovering new independents and sharing them with you!
They stock a cute range of clothing and jewellery just ideal for the summer (if we can call ours a summer!!).
They have a small selection of homeware, too. Below are my favourites:

Hugely talented fashion designer Alexander McQueen sadly took his own life on Thursday 11th February, leaving behind a world-renowned clothing line. His designs were true works of art and wonderfully inspiring. How amazing are the prints on these dresses, below?

Spring Summer 2010 show
McQueen was awarded a CBE for services to the fashion industry and was named International Designer of Year at the Council of Fashion Design Awards. A true inspiration to the industry and a leading light in the world of fashion. Read more here.
