Real homes

July 1st, 2011

We’re all fascinated by how others live, aren’t we? In fact, I’ll unashamedly admit that I’m likely to peek through your window as I’m walking past down the street, just to have a nosey!  Whether for design inspiration, info on where to buy that gorgeous flocked wallpaper you saw in next door’s living room or to make sure you’re “keeping up with the Jones’s”, we can’t help but find one another’s homes interesting!

Friday’s blog post is essentially your post- we’ve dedicated this day to show readers real homes.  Don’t be shy!  E-mail your photographs of your favourite corner of your home; be it your bedside table, a vintage cabinet or a welcoming entrance.  Share your designs tips with us, we’d love to hear from you.

I love everything about this bedroom- each piece really adds to the room, giving it character without becoming cluttered.

The pictures really look great! Especially the all white living room wall. I never expected monochromatic designs are on their way back. This gets me thinking the wall will also look good with different shades of brown (w/ sepia photos and egyptian papyrus art on wooden frames) and highlited by pinlights. What do you think Emily?

I agree- definitely sepia photos. It would be nice to introduce driftwood frames too- perfect for a beachy or New England theme
