The best of the brights

One of the major trends for Spring 1011 is neon.  I imagine the majority of you guys out there are a little horrified at the thought of this and the danger of looking like an 1980′s throwback.  Well fear not!  The best way to tackle this trend is to add a stunning bright accessory to a neutral outfit and not to go OTT on colour.  Take a look at these lovelies below- the High Street is bound to sell similar too!

Central Saint Martins graduate Yang Du is definitely ‘one to watch’ in the fashion world.  Her designs remind me a little of Jean Charles de Castelbajac and I can totally see Katy Perry in one of these outfits.  How cool is the eye makeup, too- love it!

Well you certainly wouldn’t risk putting these in the dishwasher!  I’ve just been lusting after the very desirable range of Versace homeware.  The patterns are so intricate and pretty and I’m quite fond of the pink and blue colours.

One thing’s for sure though- if I owned any of these pieces, they’d only come out on special occasions and I’d be watching you didn’t drop anything!

Cup and saucer set, £663 approx

What do you think of these prices- would you see it as an investment and a small price to pay for years of luxury dining, or can you think of better ways to spend your hard-earned cash?

Sugar bowl, £145 approx

Plate, £136 approx

Salt and pepper pots, £157 approx

The hardest job in the world?

There’s no doubt in my mind that Sarah Burton currently has the toughest job.  People watched with bated breath last Tuesday as Burton’s first solo collection for the late Alexander Mcqueen made its debut down the runway in Paris.

Displaying great skill and sensitivity, Burton undoubtedly surpassed all expectations.  Whilst no one can ever fill the shoes of Mcqueen, this debut collection proves that she definitely has what it takes to ensure the label lives on.
