A true Tuscan treasure!

October 20th, 2009

Places with a bit of character can be few and far between these days.  For me, staying in a lovely hotel is all part of the enjoyment of the holiday.  I like to feel that the surroundings reflect the culture of the area in which I’m staying.  Tuscany, with it’s historical background, beautiful landscapes and gentle lifestyle sounds ideal for a relaxing, cultural break.

Borgo Santo Pietro, a restored 13th-century period Tuscan Villa, boasts refined furnishings with a stunning classic-luxe finish, surrounded by gorgeous grounds.  The overall look is romantic and a little extravagant, although not by any means over-the-top.

Dedicated Danish owner Jeanette has kept the essence of the original building intact whilst subtly introducing modern luxuries.  Rooms feature hand-picked antiques, open fireplaces, bespoke hand-carved beds and fabulous views.

I could sit for hours dreaming of the old way of life and what it may have been like to live there in the 13th century!
