A Corner of Eden
I was just sorting out some old issues of Aga Living magazine and came across an interesting article in issue 5 from 2008.
A Corner Of Edenis a delightful Bed and Breakfast located in the Eden Valley in Kirby Steven, Cumbria. The beautiful countryside location is an ideal spot for a peaceful, relaxing stay.

Owners Debbie and Richard worked every hard to get the Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse-which had been empty for 4 years- up to a standard they were happy with, whilst also working full-time during the day. The renovation and restoration was a painstaking and time consuming process, with very pleasing end results.

Original features and quality furnishings are what make this B&B special.

Colours have been kept simple, warm and inviting and the luxury fabrics ooze opulence. I love the high ceilings and open fires.

Much of the restoration was carried out by Richard himself. It seems he is quite the handyman- he even made this beautiful oak dining table, above!

Moving House- one of the most stressful times in life!
My parents have just embarked on a new adventure by swapping their cattery business in the quaint village of Stalmine in Lancashire for a gorgeous four-star Bed and Breakfast in Evanton, Scotland. The move was terribly hectic with many hiccups along the way, however I am pleased to say that things seem to be running a little more smoothly now! As they are close to retiring age, it did concern me that running a Bed and Breakfast would not be the relaxing change they are both so in need of. However they seem to love a challenge and I really hope that once things have settled down they will be able to enjoy the business and its surroundings as much as the guests do.

They moved just last week and already have had guests from America and Switzerland! To ‘get away from it all’ and to make a booking, call 01349 830617. You’ll be sure of a warm welcome!
