There seems to be a real trend at the moment for designer cupcakes… there are bakeries popping up left right and center!  Each cupcake is a little work of art in itself, almost too good to eat. 

Cupcakes make the perfect gift- especially if you make them yourself, from the heart.  The decoration and presentation is just as important as the taste- a pretty bow, cute wrapper or an attractive cake stand can make all the difference.

Shop of the week this week is going to The Orchard based in Leicester, for its fabulous selection of vintage home accessories and shabby chic furniture.

Our favourite shop of the week (if not of the year!) is fabulous online boutique Also Home. I got the chance to virtually meet Anna Smith (the owner and buyer) through Twitter and she’s one lovely lady!

Most of the Also Home collection is gorgeous but I think Anna’s really come up trumps with these lacquered bamboo boxes, so pretty and so useful for storing scarves or jewellery, and at only £20 an absolute bargain… and this black glass cake stand is undoubtedly the sleekest cake stand I’ve ever seen, yes, even nicer than our own Coco Målé cake stands even though it pains me to admit it!!!
