Cushions for the kids
I may be 26 but just adore these cute cushions by Simon Seabright! Unfortunately I don’t have any children yet, so I have no real justification for buying them!!

Simon uses bright colours and bold imagery to create these handcrafted cushions through the use of freehand machine embroidery. They’re by no means cheap at £45 each, but for the high-quality craftmanship and the time that has gone into making each one, I’d say it’s worth it!
It may be wise to make sure the kids keep their sticky fingers off them, though!

We’ve been looking after our lovely little niece the odd day here and there and my, what a big mess a little person can make! She has so many toys that I thought it best to get some kind of toy box for her when she is visiting. Not only will it be easier to find everything but it’s a great way to teach a child to tidy up after themselves. I found my favourites at Ikea… something fun, bright and cheap to buy. My choices are quite loud and colourful but take a look at Ikea’s other storage solutions on offer if you are looking for something a little tamer!

I spotted a child recently at the airport with the cutest little suitcase in tow. It was a Trunki by Magmatic, an innovative design company who create ‘boredom-busting travel products’! As well as being fun to use, a Trunki can assist in your child’s educational development. There are currently five different designs to choose from- my favourite is Tipu the tiger, a limited edition for 2009. Prices start at £29.35.

Learn the fun way!
I’m no expert, but i’m sure that surrounding your child with inspiration and stimulating material helps towards their development process. Just having, say, the times table or alphabet on the wall in the bedroom will make learning a little easier. Fairytale images can slimulate the mind and help the child to use their imagination and be creative. Get your child off to a positive start with some of the ideas below…
