Places I must visit: India
The closest I’ve ever been to India is eating a korma (and that probably wasn’t even that authentic!) but I’d love to go to one of the markets and be surrounded by traditional Indian craftsmanship. The colourful fabrics, intricate patterns and great attention to detail make their products so appealing. There really is nothing like handmade.

Indian interior style is as elaborate as their crafts- the use of intricate pattern and strong colour provides endless inspiration…

Although bright, these cushions, above, are in no way garish. Mix and match colours and textures sympathetically for an exotic result. I like the uniformity of the picture frames, it helps to keep the room sophisticated rather than childlike.

Inspirational Interiors: Pink please
Pink- you either love it or loathe it, particularly when it comes to interior design. Personally I quite like it- especially the hot pink seen in the first two images below. I’ve just consulted my other half however and he says it’s a definite ‘no no’- far to girly apparently!

The hot pink wall above really livens-up this hallway. Keep surrounding colour to a minimum so as not to detract from the wall- other colour could prove to be overpowering.

The pink curtains and floor cushions are what makes this room, along with the stunning rug. Just adding a few bright home accessories can make a world of difference.

At home with… artist Sarah Hvass
Sarah Hvass is my kind of artist- contemporary, cool, fun and rich in colour (her illustrations, that is- although I’ve no doubt Sarah is too!)
It’s Sarah’s colourful artwork which really livens-up her funky Copenhagen home. You’d think that with all this colour and pattern, the decor would become too ‘busy’ but Sarah has ensured this doesn’t happen by balancing the brightness perfectly with a neutral background…

The pictures do all the talking- no need for much else!

I love the uniformity and organisation of the kitchen- it works so well without looking as though Sarah has tried too hard. The shapes, colours and textures all complement one another.

Pick-out colours from a piece of artwork and reflect them in your furniture or choice of home accessories as a way of ‘tying’ the overall look of the room together.

What a happy home, full of sunshine! We’d love to be invited to have a look around your home- why not send in some pictures of your favourite spot? We’ll share your photographs with our readers on the blog!

Places I must visit: the colourful streets of San Juan
We all know how stunning the Caribbean is- the definition of pure paradise. One of the main tourist spots on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is the old part of San Juan and I can definitely see why!

The city is characterized by its narrow cobblestone streets and flat-roofed brick and stone buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th century. I can’t get over how beautiful the colours of the houses are- so vibrant in the Caribbean sunshine.

Most of the architecture seen is based upon Spanish Colonial design, however I can’t help but be reminded of the Miami coastline!
