Finding home accessories online is easy but finding an attractive online boutique which sells quality, unique homeware is not.  You’ve to have a real passion for what you do to run a boutique and be willing to search high and low to offer the customer products you truely love and believe in.

I can’t quite put my finger on why I am attracted to this clock, below, as I tend to favour a more modern look.  I can just picture this featuring on the set of an old movie or maybe an early episode of Coronation Street!  It reminds me of the old storage tins my grandma used to keep in her kitchen cupboards.  I find it interesting to looking at old product labels.

Quality often comes with a price and the luxury goods featured on couturelab.com are no exception.  Founder Carmen Busquets searches the world for unique, hard-to-find pieces, many of which are painstakingly handcrafted.  Carmen is also co-founder of Net-a-porter.com, so she knows a thing or two about luxury!

I’ve posted some of my favourite home accessories below:

I wanted to make couturelab.com our Shop of the Week mainly because the company supports fair trade and also ’gives back’ by donating to charity.

It’s all about the stories behind each product- customers can not only learn about the heritage but also fall in love and own a piece of it… what could be more fabulous?!

As we’re on the subject of illustration and art, I thought it would be appropriate to name this cute children’s accessories boutique our Shop of the Week

Children’s accessories are so delightful and fun… they are probably the best audience to design for as you can really go to town in terms of creativity.

‘My Favourite Spot in Winter’ cushion, £42

‘I Like Your Bow’ mounted print by Mandy Sutcliffe, £20

Feed your child’s imagination with colourful wall art in their bedroom.

The cotton ‘doll’, above, has a little pocket sewn into the back… ideal to use as a lavender bag or a place to put teeth ready for the tooth fairy to collect!
