Keep the walls white for maximum impact.  Hexagonal storage shelving from Bloq.

 

The orange strip along the door edging compliments the print hanging in the hallway perfectly.

 

You don’t need a lot of space to make a statement!

 

I love these stairs but the design doesn’t seem to fit with the surroundings in this instance.  Perhaps the home is still work in progress.  Wallpaper by Orla Kiely

 

What do you think of this contemporary multicoloured staircase?  I like it to look at but not sure if I could actually live with it every day.  You’d definitely need to stick to a white background for this to work.

(sigh…!)

There’s no getting away from the fact that c/o The Maidstone is a stunning building.  This East Hampton hotel, restaurant and lounge oozes Scandinavian chic, right down to the Swedish breakfast!

Lovely golden and turquoise hues add a touch of luxury…

Safari theme to the extreme, maybe?!

This is such a dreamy, relaxing bedroom, with the soft greys and cream.  Love the cushions but those throws are just screaming ‘grandma’s shawl’!  The headboard provides the main focus point.

Love the wallpaper but maybe in a different setting?  It’s interesting how the frame suggests the wallpaper is a piece of art in its own right.

This is a little too colourful for my liking… what do you think?  I’m wondering if the wallpaper wasn’t a step too far; all those colours in one space make me fell dizzy!  Scandinavian design is undoubtedly colourful!

Founder of Williamsburg design and furniture shops the Future Perfect and A&G Merch, David Alhadeff, lives in a renovated Brooklyn warehouse where his love of eclectic design is reflected throughout the rooms.

Most peoples’ pet hate is pipes showing on the wall- we always want to disguise them in some way.  But here they compliment the feel of the converted warehouse,  retaining that industrial feel.  Very cool!

 

Bare stone walls- are they cosy enough for the bedroom?

 

Wow!  David’s eclectic style really shines through in the kitchen.  Is it too much?  I quite like it actually!  The silvers and greys bring the room right up-to-date.

 

There’s just the perfect balance of decor on the wall here; any more and the result would have looked too cluttered.  Add different textures and shapes to add interest.
