Dressing the table
Imagine these desserts below just on their own minus their fancy surroundings… they’d look a little dull wouldn’t they? Part of ensuring your dish looks appetizing is to think about colour and what tabletop accessories will best compliment your masterpiece. A plain cake can be spruced up with a pretty tablecloth, a bright plate, a colourful cake fork or an attractive cake stand.

Posh pudding
As Christmas is fast approaching, how about a posh pudding to ‘wow’ your guests with?! This iced nougat and raspberry terrine looks delicious and will be a welcome alternative to rich Christmas cake. I must warn you that it’s packed with calories… but aren’t all good things?!

Garden Fruits
I’ve been picking raspberries in the garden- a full 4 punnets so far! There’s only so much fruit salad I can eat, so I’ve been looking and ways to use them in a dessert recipe. I quite fancy these Raspberry and Yoghurt Swirls, don’t you?!! Yum…

Ingredients:
800g frozen raspberries
110g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
1.5kg greek style yogurt
175g (1/2 cup) honey
Place 500g raspberries, sugar and 60ml water in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Transfer mixture to a food processor and puree.
Combine yogurt and honey in a large bowl.
To assemble, place 1 tbs raspberry puree in the base of each cup. Top with 60g yogurt mixture. Repeat layering with 1 tbs raspberry puree and 60 g yogurt mixture, finishing with 1 tbs raspberry puree. Divide remaining 300g raspberries among cups and serve.

Make mine a meringue
The sight of meringue takes me back to Christmas as a child, when my mum would present those weird meringue ‘nests’ for dessert. If you were really unlucky, you got a very chewy, sticky one. Eeeww!! Well these inviting images certainly changed my perception! Banish those thoughts of grannies gathering for tea and cake… meringue has entered the 21st century!

Fruit Pizza?!
I’ve just spotted this great recipe idea over at the Make Life Delicious blog. It’s a refreshing alternative to plain old fruit salad! Sunshine has named her delightful dessert Fruit Pizza but thankfully the base is made from cookie dough!

The picture reminds me of a colourful mosaic pattern… it’s so pleasing on the eye that you might think it’s too good to eat. Well, almost!
