The Secret Garden…
It looks like the snow is set to get worse, folks! I’m quite thankful I haven’t made any plans to travel in the near future because most airports across the country seem to have been affected one way or another.

One place I would love to go to though is Provence; albeit only because I want to stay in Jardins Secrets, a beautiful four star hotel which oozes luxury French style at its best! With its opulent decor and welcoming ‘home-from-home’ feel, I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave!

The rich colour palette and warm lighting create a very welcoming ambiance. What a beautiful headboard!

I love the shabby-chic feel of this bathroom, its so romantic…

I’ve recently been going through some of my old fashion magazines (I’m having to get rid of a few because they just take up too much room!) and I came across an interesting article in W magazine about the home of French antiques dealer Yves Gastou.
Gastou travels to his second home in Biarritz, France every couple of months. His dining room is crowded with rare pieces from French masters of the forties and fifties. Indeed, the entire house is full of spectacular furniture, each with a unique story to tell. “I’ve always felt a need to shock,” he says, “to mix things that one can consider atrociously kitsch or ugly with beautiful pieces”. He has ‘made a career out of turning the unwanted into the coveted’ and is one of the most influential sellers of twentieth century furniture.
In 1985 Gastou opened a shop, balancing exhibits of contemporary designers with his pieces from the French 1940s.
The man certainly has taste and with past clients to include Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Largerfeld, who are we to argue?!
