The ultimate modern cottage
Didmarton House in Tetbury is owned by interior designer, Jo Berryman. The 17th century Gloucestershire manor house has a beautifully modern interior with quirky home accessories, whilst remaining sympathetic to the building and its rich history. There are no musty moth balls or creaky floorboards here- more like a stunning period home with an attractive contemporary interior. Perfect!

This property is currently on the market and is all yours for £2 million.

The perfect balance of old and new
Here is proof that a cottage which is centuries old need not be decorated like your grandma’s house (bless her).
Ashe and Leandro is an architecture and interior design practice located in New York, dedicated to “creating spaces that innovate and inspire”. I love the gorgeous flashes of rich colour they have introduced to the cottage pictured below in California. Just looking at it cheers me up and I’ve no doubt I’d have a little spring in my step if I lived amongst such joyful surroundings!
Whilst keeping the original features such as the beams and fireplace, Ashe and Leandro has brought the cottage tastefully into the 21st century with the use of modern furniture throughout. The large windows and glass doors allow maximum natural light to enter the rooms, with the pure white walls reflecting this light, making the cottage bright and airy.
The result? Stunning… don’t you agree?
