Life on the ocean wave
I’ve got a thing for small boats and could dream for hours about just drifting along on the ocean. Can you imagine what it would be like to actually live on a boat? What an adventure! Although I can’t say I’d be too keen on the restrictive storage space; where do you put all of your shoes / clothes / handbags?!

This classic 1965 67-foot motor yacht, named Paragon, is home to interior designer Mitchell Turnbough, his wife and their young daughter. The saying “good things come in small packages” is true here! The once worn, dated interior has now been restored to its timeless 1965 glory with the help of a few mod-cons.
I love the orange and navy together, it looks so relaxing and homely. There’s no wasted space and maximum efficiency everywhere- very cleverly thought out.
Isn’t it stunning?

I can’t think of a better view than that of the New York skyline when docked at the harbour- what bliss!

Like it or loathe it, brocade has come into fashion this season. Granted, the rich texture and intricate detailing is not to everyone’s taste.
For those of you who do like this style, I’ve just come across an interesting homeware website aptly named Brocade Home. Some of you may recognise the name, or may have visited their store in Soho, situated on Greene Street in New York.
The furniture designs feature patterned cut-outs and silhouette shapes, whilst remaining simple enough to have that sought-after modern look. I wouldn’t mind owning the whole range!!
Below is my pick of the best…

erm… not too sure this should be used as shoe storage though?!!

Here is proof that a cottage which is centuries old need not be decorated like your grandma’s house (bless her).
Ashe and Leandro is an architecture and interior design practice located in New York, dedicated to “creating spaces that innovate and inspire”. I love the gorgeous flashes of rich colour they have introduced to the cottage pictured below in California. Just looking at it cheers me up and I’ve no doubt I’d have a little spring in my step if I lived amongst such joyful surroundings!
Whilst keeping the original features such as the beams and fireplace, Ashe and Leandro has brought the cottage tastefully into the 21st century with the use of modern furniture throughout. The large windows and glass doors allow maximum natural light to enter the rooms, with the pure white walls reflecting this light, making the cottage bright and airy.
The result? Stunning… don’t you agree?

Looking at these stunning images, it may come as no surprise that the owner of this beautiful New York apartment is an interior designer.
Sheila Bridges has, in fact, been named “America’s Best Interior Designer” by CNN and Time Magazine.
Bridges founded her own interior design firm in 1994, which is “committed to creating high-end, interior spaces that are thought-evoking and visually interesting while also comfortable and livable”.
In 2007, Sheila’s passion for interiors inspired her to design furniture and home furnishings under the name Sheila Bridges Home, Inc.
The chosen colour pallet is so harmonious and relaxing! The blue tones are refreshing for summer, yet also offer a feeling of warmth for the winter months. The eclectic mix of antique furniture seems to fit together perfectly, which is quite a difficult look to perfect. Beautiful high ceilings, interesting features… I can’t spot any faults so far!
