A Corner of Eden
I was just sorting out some old issues of Aga Living magazine and came across an interesting article in issue 5 from 2008.
A Corner Of Edenis a delightful Bed and Breakfast located in the Eden Valley in Kirby Steven, Cumbria. The beautiful countryside location is an ideal spot for a peaceful, relaxing stay.

Owners Debbie and Richard worked every hard to get the Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse-which had been empty for 4 years- up to a standard they were happy with, whilst also working full-time during the day. The renovation and restoration was a painstaking and time consuming process, with very pleasing end results.

Original features and quality furnishings are what make this B&B special.

Colours have been kept simple, warm and inviting and the luxury fabrics ooze opulence. I love the high ceilings and open fires.

Much of the restoration was carried out by Richard himself. It seems he is quite the handyman- he even made this beautiful oak dining table, above!

Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks
If you buy one fashion book this winter, make it Louise Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks. We all know LV is the king of all-things-luggage and has been the lust-after label for many years. Illustrated with over 600 images taken from the Louis Vuitton archives, this special book gives the reader an insight into the fascinating trunk design history.

Authors Pierre Léonforte and Éric Pujalet-Plaà curate 100 of the finest trunks the Louis Vuitton company has produced on commission, including boxes made for movie stars from Douglas Fairbanks to Sharon Stone and couturiers from Jeanne Lanvin to Karl Lagerfeld, as well as cases designed for Ernest Hemingway and Damien Hirst.
The creations are clever, unique, luxurious and of course so very desirable!

The Travel Bug
Ok, so today’s post isn’t technically on travel, but I just had to share these images with you! Some of the maps are actual wallpaper, some are a DIY job, but all look fantastic, don’t you agree? Certain to give you the travel bug!!

Breathtaking Aurora
Can you imagine living in a place where you have nightless nights and dayless days??!!! It must be so hard to get used to the contrast between winter and summer… Apart from that though, I am a huge fan of Scandinavian countries, I love the people, the scenery, the food and think it’s a real shame this region is not on most peoples’ top travel destinations.
If you’re thinking of taking a long weekend this winter, I would definitely recommend one of the Nordic countries – the capital cities are all beautiful (I especially fell in love with Stockholm), but for a one-in-a-lifetime experience, make sure you don’t miss the Northern Lights, pictured below.
Officially called Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights are an astonishing sight, like colours dancing in the sky! They are caused by the Earth’s magnetic field and interactions with the solar wind and together with the snow-covered mountains and blue night sky create a breathtaking view.
They say that the best view of the Northern Lights is from Northern Norway but I think they are also clearly visible from Sweden and Iceland. Check out Discover the World and Nature Travels for more information.
