Mosaic
This is a classic ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ design idea, which I was talking about in a recent previous blog! The art of creating a mosaic has been practised for centuries but Italian company Mosaico+ has brought the technique right up-to-date. With every colour under the sun available, any pattern is possible!

above: the wall in itself is a work of art so frame it (top right)!

above: a small section of mosaic can be just as striking, if not moreso…

The Travel Bug
Ok, so today’s post isn’t technically on travel, but I just had to share these images with you! Some of the maps are actual wallpaper, some are a DIY job, but all look fantastic, don’t you agree? Certain to give you the travel bug!!

The power of wallpaper
I just can’t get enough of bold, patterned wallpaper at the moment. If you want to make a strong statement which has the ‘wow’ factor, this is definitely the way to go. A feature wall can transform your home in an instant without breaking the bank.

So what are we all waiting for? Are people a little apprehensive to take the plunge, possibly because on the roll, the colours can look quite scary and garish?? As these images below show, bright colour and bold pattern can look stunning. Let’s get out of our comfort zone and try something new!

Take a look at Wallpower Mini too, the collection has been designed especially for your little ones!

I love how the furniture has been painted to match the striped wallpaper, what a funky idea! Plus this brings the retro cupboard bang up-to-date without having to spend a lot.
Reflect the colours of the wallpaper in the cushions and other accessories too, to bring the whole look together.

Delightful de Gournay
All of the rooms pictured below have one special thing in common; they all feature De Gournay wallpaper. Each piece has been beautifully and painstakingly handpainted to absolute perfection. There’s no doubt that the result is worth every penny and the wallpaper is really what ‘makes’ each room.
This high-end decor company primarily specializes in 18th century Chinoiserie and 19th century French designs. For a more contemporary, modern feel, designs and colour palletts can be altered if requested.
Don’t you just love it?!
“Our designers’ unique understanding of style and colour together with our large database of historic interiors can be used to produce a happy, vibrant and peaceful environment in your home that you will appreciate forever and that will be admired by all”.

De Gournay also hand paints fabric (as seen above) and porcelain

I particularly love the showroom image directly above. How opulent is the colour pallet and the floor is just amazing!! You’d think that when put together this would just be all too much but it works so well.
The designer has made the most of the De Gournay wallpaper, below, by covering the built-in wardrobe, too! The pattern and colour used in this instance shows that the designs aren’t necessarily too pretty and ‘girly’…

Marvel over Mabel & Violet
I’ve just come across this cute company located in Dublin, Ireland, what a find! Owned by Paula Asple, Mabel & Violet is fantastic online boutique selling an eclectic range of homewares, gifts and fashion.
“We are always on the lookout for things that are a little bit different, extremely affordable and, above all, that will make someone happy. We love nothing more than surrounding ourselves with beautiful things and sharing our love of home accessories” explains Asple.
Sounds a lot like our philosophy here at Coco Målé!
In particular I’m loving their selection of wallpaper and wallstickers! Prices start from 34.40 euros.
