Floor art?

Imagine this room, below, with plain wooden flooring.  It would seem a little dull, wouldn’t it?  I love the idea of brightening-up a room with a colourful, painted floor.  It adds a personal, homely touch that is unique to the house.  Of course, the process will require a lot of time and patience but the result would be well worth the effort.  We stencil our walls… why not the floor?!
